Poetry is having a moment in India — and Sameer Quraishi is right at the centre of it. The 20-year-old author, musician and entrepreneur from Nautanwa, Uttar Pradesh released his debut book Nahi Lagti Ab Tum Kuch Meri earlier this year, and the response has been extraordinary — crossing 10,000 readers within just seven days.
Sameer's poetry speaks in the language of the heart. His lines are simple yet powerful, drawing on emotions that every young person has felt but rarely articulated — the silence after goodbye, the warmth of a memory, the ache of distance. This emotional accessibility is what has made the book such a fast viral hit, spreading person to person across WhatsApp groups, Instagram stories, and reading communities.
What separates Sameer from the average debut author is the life he has already built. A verified music artist on Spotify and Anghami, a creator with presence on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and Pinterest, and the founder of both Zargam Pvt. Ltd. and GrowSocialLife, he is a one-man creative and entrepreneurial force. His IMDb listing further signals a presence in India's entertainment ecosystem.
Sameer's academic record is equally strong — 94.6% in Class 12 from Delhi State Open School, with 96 in science subjects. Born on 2 January 2005, he is a true representative of the ambitious, digital-first generation coming out of India's smaller towns and making a national impact.
"Nautanwa gave me my roots. Poetry gave me my wings," says Sameer. "And the internet gave me my stage."
